Eight salt and pepper diamonds are flush set surrounding the eye — two at 2mm, six at approximately 1mm. Their own organic inclusions carry a geological character that complements rather than competes with the sapphire. Beryllium diffusion involves heating the stone in the presence of beryllium oxide, which allows beryllium ions to diffuse into the corundum lattice and intensify the color profile. It is a surface-to-shallow-depth treatment. It does not affect the tricolor growth zoning — that structure is intrinsic to the crystal geometry and was present before any treatment. The three colors are real, structural, and documented. The treatment enhanced their expression.
