A torus is the geometric solid formed by rotating a perfect circle on an axis. It is the shape of a donut, a life preserver, a smoke ring in still air. It is also, it turns out, exactly the right shape for a ring.
The Torus Band is 2.5mm in diameter — fully round in cross-section, not comfort-fit, not flattened on the inside. The entire profile is circular. This matters more than it sounds: a fully round band has no thin edge to stress, no flat interior to create pressure points, and a structural integrity that comfort-fit bands sacrifice for the sake of the name. At 2.5mm the Torus is substantial enough to feel like fine jewelry and slim enough to stack without competing with whatever sits beside it.
Every Torus Band is hand-formed in wax before casting — not pulled from a mold, not drawn from wire. Each size is shaped individually by hand, sanded progressively from 120 grit through 10,000, finished with a fiberglass brush, and given a final pass with lighter fluid on a soft brush to reveal the true surface before it goes to the foundry. What comes back from casting is finished by hand in your chosen surface.
The finish is the design. Six options, same geometry, completely different object depending on what you ask the surface to do. If you are unsure: brushed. Shown in brushed yellow 14k gold. If you want something nobody else will notice but you will: burnished.
Five metals because the Torus changes personality completely depending on the alloy. TruSilver is the entry point — wearable, durable, accessible. Yellow gold is warm and classic. Rose gold is softer. Green gold is rare and has a science story behind it. Palladium white is the correct white metal — nickel-free, no rhodium plating, the one to choose if standard white gold has ever given you trouble.
Stackable with everything. Stands alone just fine.

Finish Guide
Note your finish in the order comments at checkout. No finish specified — ships in brushed satin.
|
Finish |
Description |
|
Smooth |
High mirror polish. The geometry without interruption. Reflects light cleanly from every angle. The interior of every ring. |
|
Brushed |
Directional satin finish. Warm, matte sheen. The most wearable everyday surface. Default if no finish is specified. |
|
Burnished |
Rotary steel burnishing wheel. Between satin and mirror — a compressed directional sheen that photographs unlike either. Abby’s personal recommendation. |
|
Hammered |
Faceted texture across the full round surface. Each face catches light differently as the ring moves. |
|
Carved |
Hand-carved texture cut directly into the wax before casting. Each carved Torus is unique. |
|
Lines |
Fine parallel lines cut by hand gently with the burnisher across the band surface. Architectural and quiet. |
About Each Metal
|
Metal |
About this metal |
|
TruSilver |
Tarnish-resistant, nickel-free silver alloy. More durable than standard sterling, without reactive nickel. Casts with the same warm weight as sterling and takes every finish beautifully. The accessible entry point into a precious metal band. |
|
14k Yellow Gold |
The warmest and most classic expression of the torus form. The round profile catches light from every angle; yellow gold makes every finish read differently. Substantial and wearable daily. |
|
14k Rose Gold |
Softer and more contemporary than yellow. The copper content (~38%) gives it a gentle blush that deepens slightly with wear. Takes the burnished finish especially well. |
|
14k Green Gold |
14k green gold is alloyed with silver and zinc instead of copper, shifting the reflectance toward shorter wavelengths — the same physics that makes Chrysina gloriosa beetles appear green. Rare in fine jewelry. Smooth and burnished finishes bring out the green character most clearly. |
|
14k Palladium White Gold |
Palladium-alloyed white gold — not nickel white, not rhodium-plated. Naturally white, nickel-free, and does not require replating. For anyone who has had reactions to standard white gold, this is the correct choice. Develops a gentle patina over years of wear. |

Most satisfying geometric solids: no beginning, no end, structurally stable in every direction. I named this band after it because the name is accurate, and because I named my entire brand after a crystallographic classification system. Consistency matters.
Hand-formed and finished by me. Made to order.
