Description: This stone grew in sectors.

During crystallization, corundum develops along distinct crystallographic directions simultaneously — and each direction incorporates trace elements at slightly different rates. The result is a stone with discrete color territories that do not blend into each other: blue-grey occupying one region, yellow-green another, divided not by a gradient but by the geometry of the crystal's own growth architecture. This is sector zoning. It cannot be induced by treatment, replicated by cutting, or approximated by any process that happens after the stone leaves the ground. You are looking at the internal structure of the crystal made visible at the surface.

Under the microscope the boundaries between sectors are precise. The blue-grey regions carry the characteristic steely depth of unheated Montana material. The yellow-green sectors record a different trace element environment within the same growth event — the same stone, the same moment of formation, a completely different atomic neighborhood depending on which direction the crystal was growing at that point.

Fine silk inclusions run through the body — rutile needles oriented along crystallographic directions, undisturbed. High-temperature treatment would have dissolved them. Their presence is confirmation.
